Am I allowed to be annoyed?

Am I allowed to be annoyed?
Is it okay to feel that I have paid my dues and tested week after week after week and shouldn't have to deal with amateurs?

The answer is no. And although I was DEFINITELY feeling that way this last Sunday at 6:00 in the morning, working with bad makeup, styling, etc ... I should not have felt that way because as you can see in the pictures below (behind the scenes), my frustration was reading to the camera.

In hindsight, I remind myself that a year ago I would've much appreciated this shoot. I can say that giving myself to this particular team of photographers, makeup artists, stylists, etc. will help their portfolios. And who am I to say no to helping anyone?

Shoot with Jenna Hunt

I had a wonderful rainy Sunday in the studio with Jenna this last weekend, and we jived together amazingly spending the day taking pretty/natural pictures for my portfolio. It was nice actually working for once knowing that the pictures WOULD be used for my port. Here are some of my favorites:

February 11th, 2009

Hello! Well, last weekend I shot with Claudia and Nissa again, continuing on with our painting on doors project. The results are adorable! I truly love the photos ... I'm keeping my fingers crossed ford will use them in my portfolio. To simply put it, I feel like they are so pretty and natural, but also sweet and silly like me. Here is the final selection:

Claudia was also sweet enough to send me some possible portfolio usable shots from the shoot we did a few months back ...

Things have been painfully slow lately. Although I've been keeping myself busy with weekly test shoots, vamping my book up completely, it's hurting here too. There have barely been any castings since I returned from Venezuela. I got the callback on a University of Phoenix commercial last week but just ended up getting a role as an extra. Usually I would not have accepted extra work, but something is better than nothing at this point. Today we shot the commercial and it was a painfully long day of pretty much no work involved except waiting around and hitting a mark. Of course, that was to be expected. I'm lucky to have had the opportunity, but I know in the end extra work doesn't really matter on your resume, and I hope I never have to do it again to be honest. I hate to sound "that way" but it's just the truth ... I'm paying too much money for an acting degree, and have enough experience that I feel I deserve to set a certain standard for myself.
I'm off to ice my swollen feet. Love to all.

Febuary 4th, 2009 :: Claudia G Teasers.

On Superbowl Sunday I spent about 14 hours with my favorite Photog, Claudia Goetzelmann and her friend and stylist Nissa, shooting some Parts stuff. The theme was loosely about bathroom products with kind of quirky feminine tone. Here is the first set she sent, as well as a picture of us goofing off afterward. An idea Claudia kind of pulled out of her "projects for a rainy day" drawer. We painted things on a glass door like eyeglasses, a crown, and lips and took pictures of me playing around with them. I was scared to be photographed sans makeup, but I am beginning to love my look without it.
